Spend a night "roughing it" in the state rooms of this 1934 steamboat, dine in the galley, and understand what life was like on this historic paddle wheeler. Groups are welcome to rent the entire boat. Educational programs and tours are available. (Seasonal: April -- October)

This National Landmark vessel, nearly the size of a football field, was a working dredge boat that once roamed the Missouri River. Today you can walk the decks of this 1934 steamer and tour the engine room and pilothouse. The William M. Black was used to complete the navigable channel on the Missouri River, making it possible to use the river for shipping wartime supplies during W.W. II. Click on the photos below to enlarge.

Riverwalk
The River Walk is a stretch of walking trails on the banks of the Mississippi River at the Port of Dubuque. The River Walk will lead you to one of Iowa's top tourism attractions, the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium and to a unique Boat & Breakfast overnight adventure. Tour the Museum & Aquarium and stay overnight on the William M. Black, a 1934 dredge boat, to experience the life of a dredge boat worker. Reservations are required for the Boat & Breakfast stay.
