Lake Rathbun, Red Haw State Park, and Stephens State Forest (1000's of acres of public hunting) are all within 25 miles. We do have hosta, herb and butterfly gardens. Many varieties of birds as well as fox, deer, and wild turkeys are often spotted on the property. Excellent museums are located in Wayne County (Corydon) and Lucas County (Chariton), each within 15 miles from Foxwood. Humeston has a restored railroad depot/museum as well as a unique shopping experience at Snyder's Variety Clothing and Gifts. There are two major railroads, Burlington Santa Fe and Union Pacific, formerly Rock Island Railroad, in the area.
