The Schoolhouse Bed & Breakfast is a restored 1873 one-room school located on our Adair County farm, just 1 mile north of Highway 92, between the towns of Greenfield and Fontanelle, Iowa.
The Schoolhouse B&B combines old and new: cloak room entry, chalkboard, and antique bookcase compliment a a large bedroom, a modern bathroom, a comfy sitting area, and a fantastic view of the rolling hills of Southwest Iowa.
Found on the farm are cherry and apple trees, a large asparagus patch, and the typical vegetable garden.
Breakfast includes a large home-cooked breakfast with sweet rolls and farm fresh eggs. Greenfield and Fontanelle are only minutes away and offer a variety of dining options for your other meals.
Tour an antique airplane museum, visit the birthplace of Henry A. Wallace, founder of Pioneer Seed Corn, play a round of golf at the Country Club or just sit on the porch and enjoy the quiet countryside. Before you leave, you'll want to be sure to see the famous "Freedom Rock", a memorial to the men and women in our Armed Forces who have preserved and protected our freedoms throughout our history.
